How to Integrate Salesforce CRM with Tally Prime
How to Integrate Salesforce CRM with Tally Prime
SOP for extracting Salesforce Opportunity and Account data, converting it to Tally XML, and maintaining a reliable CRM-ERP sync pipeline.
Who is this for: Business Integrations
For mid-size and enterprise businesses in India, Salesforce CRM manages the full customer lifecycle — from lead generation to closed deals and quote approvals. However, for financial accounting, teams still rely on Tally Prime for GST invoicing and ledger management.
Maintaining two separate systems without a data bridge leads to manual re-entry errors, billing delays, and reconciliation challenges. This guide covers how to connect Salesforce CRM data with Tally Prime.
1. Integration Architecture Overview
Since Tally Prime does not offer native Salesforce connectivity, the integration requires a three-layer approach:
- Data Extraction: Pull closed Opportunity and Account data from Salesforce using the Salesforce REST API or CSV export.
- Data Transformation: Map Salesforce fields to Tally XML schema (e.g., Account Name → Ledger Name, Product Code → Stock Item).
- Data Import: Use Tally Prime's XML import capability to push the transformed data as sales vouchers and ledger masters.
2. Field Mapping: Salesforce to Tally
| Salesforce Field | Tally Prime Field |
|---|---|
| Account Name | Ledger Name (Party) |
| Billing Address | Mailing Address |
| GSTIN (Custom Field) | GSTIN / UIN |
| Opportunity Close Date | Voucher Date |
| Product Code / SKU | Stock Item Name or Alias |
| Opportunity Amount | Gross Sale Value |
3. Syncing Customer Masters
Before syncing invoices, ensure Tally has corresponding ledger accounts for all Salesforce accounts:
- Export the Salesforce Account list to CSV.
- Transform the CSV to Tally's ledger XML schema with GSTIN, address, and account group (Sundry Debtors).
- Import using Gateway of Tally → Import → Masters to bulk-create customer ledger accounts.
